Educational Changes In the 1970s the province facilitated for all hospital based nursing schools to close and moved to community colleges. In 1967, there was approval to establish a Regional School of Nursing at St. Catharines General Hospital serving as the sponsoring organization with 4 other hospitals participating to offer clinical resources. The school was organized separately from The Mack Training School for Nurses, but retained the name of Dr. Mack and became The Mack School of Nursing.
